An inspired journey through the 20th century Slovenian resistance-to-politics by way of playing jazz. Opting to show regime changes through their echoes in popular music the film cleverly lifts the weight of history from the viewer and makes you wish you learned that sax when you had the chance.

Director Katarina Sedlbauer
Katarina studied film and video in Slovenia, followed by a course in editing at the Film and TV school of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, Czech Republic (2001). After returning to Slovenia she worked on music video spots, commercials, and making-of documentaries. Next she edited Croatian TV series “Zabranjena ljubav” (Freemantle production; 2004), and Slovenian franchise reality shows The Farm (POP TV; 2007), and Big Brother (POP TV; 2007 and 2008). “Scent of Jazz” is her directorial debut.
