After an absence of sixteen years Maša returns to Belgrade, the city
of her childhood. She had left at the age of 9 with her mother, due
to constant intimidation. More than a decade has gone by since she
left, and the wars of the 1990’s have separated people. The comeback
evokes repressed feelings and memories of some key events that have
changed her and her mother's life...
Director Maša Drndic
Born in 1982 she graduated from the Middle School of Applied Arts in
Rijeka, Croatia in 2002 and from the Academy of Applied Arts,
Department of Graphics in 2008. She works as a graphic designer on
posters, book covers and illustrations for publishing houses. Maša
started working on documentaries when she joined cinema club 'Filmaktiv'.
In 2007 she completed the workshop for documentary filmmaking
organized by the French Atelier Varan affiliate in Belgrade, where
she completed her first documentary film “My Belgrade” about her own
life trauma.
