Synopsis:
For years, Bulgarian Hristina Tasheva was an undocumented
immigrant in Amsterdam, Netherlands, working as a cleaning
lady in private homes. Cleaning houses during the day when
no one is home, Hristina’s life was a lonely and anonymous
one. To come to terms with her life, she began to take
photographs of the interiors of the houses she cleaned.
Hristina's photographs highlight the disjunctions between
northern European affluence and the immigrant experience.
