Astakos is a seaside town on the Ionian sea in Western Greece.
Filmmakers capture the images of daily life of its people and the
natural beauty of the place. This is also a trip down the memory
lane, showing the link between the past and present through old
photos of Astakos and the people who used to live there. The film is
a nostalgic look at a way of life that is slowly fading in a
magical, beautiful place.
Director’s Statement is a quote from a poem by Kavafis (The City,
1910)
NEW LANDS YOU WILL NOT FIND
YOU WILL NOT FIND OTHER SEAS
THE CITY WILL FOLLOW YOU
YOU WILL ROAM THE SAME STREETS
